How heavy should I pack each box for residential Moving?

All items vary in weight. Pack heavier items in the smallest book sized boxes, and lighter items in the medium to large sized boxes. Do not pack books, records, or magazines in medium or large sized boxes.

Is there anything I should keep with me and not load on the truck?

Be sure to carry on your possession any items that you might need immediate access to once you get to your new home. Items such as cell phones, wallets, important phone numbers or documents, keys, that might be difficult to locate if packed into boxes and loaded onto truck. Valuable items should also be taken by you to your new location.

Is there anything that WTMS can’t move?

There are several items which are considered hazardous and may not loaded onto truck, such as gas cans, paint, aerosol cans, batteries, perishables, ammunition, cleaning supplies, plants, and detergents. Pets may not be loaded onto the truck.

What are my residential moving charges based on?

For local moves your charges are based on an agreed upon hourly rate for the numbers of movers provided, truck fee, and standard charges for any specialty items if needed. Specialty items include:

Pianos
Gun safes
Swing sets
Trampolines
Exercise Equipment
Large Machinery
Pool tables
Cars, boats

At the time of the visual estimate your WTMS representative will explain the hourly rate and how many movers you will need, estimated cost of supplies or any additional services you may request such as Packing or Unpacking, crating, Xtreme Cleaning. We also sell packing supplies at our Paris location if you need these as well.

How can I obtain an estimate for moving costs?

To receive an estimate either call WTMS at 1-877-512-MOVE or simply fill out the on-line form and a residential moving specialist will contact you during business hours to set up an in Home appointment with an estimator to receive your 100% Guaranteed Moving Cost. There will be no surprises on Moving day.

What payment options are available?

Most moves require payment upon delivery by either cash, certified check or money order. Credit card payment options are available as well for a small surcharge. Discuss these options with your WTMS customer service representative to select the one that works best for you. In the event your employer is paying for your move, the employer may pre-arrange to be billed by invoice resulting in no out-of-pocket expenses for you. Whatever payment option best meets your needs, be sure that all of the arrangements are made before your belongings are packed and loaded.

Should I tip the movers?

If you are happy with the service provided please feel free to tip the movers in cash.
